Amanda Marie Schwinghammer is a careful observer, a characteristic essential to her client-first outlook. “I always shoot with my heart, and always with my client in mind,” she says. “I really sit and watch my subjects. I like to guide them into movements that I’ve observed they do naturally so I am sure to capture them as themselves.” This technique is evident in her imagery—poised (unless she’s on the dance floor, of course)—and while she plays off the richness of both warm and cool colors, there’s a calm serenity in her black-and-white photos. She also likes to come in close, her 35mm f/1.4 being the most frequently called-upon lens.
