Kristi Boatright describes her characteristic photography style as “honest, moody but approachable, nostalgic and effortless.” She notes that, on the wedding day, everything she does is dependent on her client and their wishes. She often meets the couple for breakfast to celebrate and reflect on their journey thus far, which helps her build a wider perspective of the greater story.

She continues learning the story, even after the work has started: “With the extra time I have, I am able to have more intentional conversations with family members or friends and get to hear stories about the couple which, in return, helps me capture certain aspects in a way I wouldn’t have known otherwise.” Boatright wants her client’s wedding day to feel like a whimsical indie film, even surprising them at the end of the event with all the Polaroids she shot throughout the day.
