Josh Olson has heard more than once that he lends a calming presence on a wedding day. Concerned with creating a stress-free and comfortable environment for his couples, Olson does his best to ensure that they’re fully present on their big days and earns their trust to capture “moments of in-between, emotional intricacies and familiar subtleties of the wedding day.”

Having studied photography and art history, Olson draws from classical art, architecture and documentary photography. He photographs using Canon and Sigma gear for his digital photos, and with Polaroid, Rolleiflex, Mamiya and Kodak for his work on film. Regardless of the gear, Olson says he uses the “classic Kodak look” as a barometer for his color editing in order to create photos that are “simultaneously nostalgic and true to life.”
