When Jai Long, previously an electrician and a café owner, came up with the moniker “Free the Bird,” his intention, he says, was to describe freeing your imagination. “I try to experiment as much as possible and I keep all my images very relaxed and loose,” the self-taught shooter says. “With minimal posing and not a lot of attention to the technical side of photography, I work to convey a feeling of freedom and realness in my images. I am a very quiet shooter and I don’t take a million photos.” You can most likely find him with his latest obsessions, his Canon AF35M as well as his Pentax 67, at every wedding.
