Catalina aims to reflect honest humanity in her weddings. While she shoots them digitally, she first learned to photograph—and continues to take personal photos—on film. She lets the spontaneity of film guide how she shoots on a DSLR too, sometimes ignoring her viewfinder, messing with her camera’s settings and playing with intentional blur. “In the last couple of years, I have learned that the best way to set yourself apart from other photographers is to stop trying to set yourself apart from other photographers,” Catalina advises. “Just be yourself. You are your only competition.”
