Yangshuo, China, is a dream destination that wedding photographer Don Bringas of photo team Don + Helen always dreamed about visiting. “This place gives me all the Dragon Ball fanboy chills,” he says. So when couple Elina and Aaron contacted the duo, they jumped at the chance without thinking twice about it.

“Just imagine photographing an amazing couple and super awesome human beings in the middle of a mind-bending landscape like this,” Don says. “It was like a dream come true… Then we get to know their plans about the wedding partying nonstop, no traditions, just pure fun.”

The added bonus was an early morning pre-wedding shoot in the wetlands of Yangshuo. “Elina and Aaron woke up at 2:30 a.m. to get to the location, which was a two-hour drive from the Alila hotel where they were staying. All that just to get on a bamboo raft in the cold river water for a photo shoot. They were champions,” says Don.

And after the beautiful location shoot, there was the actual wedding and party, which Don says comprised lots of toasts, dancing and karaoke. “As the Baijiu (Chinese rice liquor) continued to flow, everyone got happier and happier.”
