When a Beyoncé Song Comes On…

During the getting-ready portion of the wedding day, photographer Kadi Tobin lined up this bridal party to take photos of them in their matching robes. Music was playing all the while, and the next song to come on was Beyoncé’s catchy “Run the World (Girls)” song (“Who run the world? Girls! Who run the world? Girls!”).

“I could see the bride’s sister and Maid of Honor getting antsy and wanting to move around,” the San Diego-based photographer recalls, “so the second I told them to jump around and be free, they instantly broke out into dance and song, serenading the bride. My advice to any photographer is to shoot through every moment. Don’t pose people and move on to the next pose—just let them be themselves in between, and that is when the magic will happen.”
