Tulle Time

“Think about the warmest day in summer, then add 100 percent humidity to that,” says photographer Addison Jones—that’s what it was like on this bride’s wedding day in Warrenton, Virginia. Luckily, there was a slight breeze that day, and the open window in the room where she was getting ready served Jones and the bridal party well.

With only four other people in the room, Jones recalls that when it came time to put on the dress, the bride had her brother lend a helping hand. “I thought it was one of the sweetest moments I had ever encountered,” says Jones. Since the bride was wearing tulle, Jones knew the backlight from the window would create an ethereal glow. All she had to do was wait for the right moment. As the bride’s brother stood in front of her, spreading out her veil above her head while she situated the tulle, Jones hit the shutter.
