Photographers Don and Helen had a unique challenge with this engagement shoot for surfer couple Max and Giulia. As it turns out, Max, the groom-to-be, had never really been photographed before. “The first couple hundred images we have were taken as ‘warm up’ photos,” the photography duo explains. “We wanted to make sure that Max felt comfortable, so we let him cuddle his dogs and throw stones into the ocean. It was really important to assure the couple that they were doing an amazing job. This is a game changer and really boosted their confidence.”

It all led up to this enchanting portrait where Max is gazing boldly into the camera. Notes Don and Helen, “We love the glow in his eyes and the love Giulia has for this awesome guy.”
