Wedding photographer Iga Koczorowska of Moko Photography, based in Arezzo, Italy, created a personal project as wedding inspiration, as well as “proof that Italy is not only about sunsets and vineyards,” she says. “It’s also full of moody forests, rocky rivers, ferns and broken trees. For this inspiration photo session, we went off the beaten track to create timeless, ethereal images that inspire to venture creatively outside of common wedding photography.”

The shoot took place in the Pratomagno mountain range of Tuscany, in the province of Arezzo a few months ago and came to life, adds Koczorowska, with the help of a bridal atelier (Anthea Spose), her trusted hair and make-up artist Desiree Rodriguez, and her models, Patrizia and Francesco. “They are a real couple and volunteered to pose for the photo shoot. Once ready, we drove up to the forest under the feet of Pratomagno and went right to the location. I scouted the place before and knew exactly what angles would work for the session. The whole shoot took about three hours.”

The photographer says that this shoot, including the image here, perfectly reflects her moody, romantic sensitivity. “What I wanted to show through the photos is how close and far away two people in love can be. Always together, but sometimes apart. Love is an intense, complicated feeling. It’s a journey that the couple undertakes together, but in the end each of them has to walk their own path.”
