Sebastien Bicard ventured to Yosemite at sunrise to eat breakfast in front of Half Dome with this couple. “A wildfire was still active in the area and added this unreal vision under Half Dome and in the valley,” Bicard says.

The three had already spent some hours shooting together the day before this, so he wasn’t necessarily planning on shooting any more; they were going to eat and then go their separate ways. “As Daniel and AJ were chatting and laughing,” however, Bicard recalls, “I saw the opportunity to highlight their connection in silhouette, framed by Half Dome in the first light of the day.”
