This photo is, in a way, a first look before the first look. Photographers Erika and Lanny of Two Mann Studios were documenting the getting-ready process when they noticed the potential for this composition. The groom, James, was anxiously waiting in the living room to see his bride while she, Joanne, was getting the finishing touches completed on her makeup.

Lanny and Erika knew there was no guarantee that the perfect moment would happen, where both bride and groom would fit naturally within the frame, but luck was on their side. After waiting patiently for a few moments, this one unfolded organically. Says the photographers, “Our favorite part of this particular frame is that it all lined up with both bride and groom in action and without either of them knowing what was happening on the other side of the wall.”
