When Katherine Dalton first asked couple Laura and David how they envisioned the style of their wedding, she recalls, “they said ‘giving the middle finger to tradition.’ I knew right away I was going to like them.”

The couple flew from the UK to Las Vegas to elope to Elvis’ Little White Chapel. The day before, Dalton accompanied them to Red Rock Canyon State Park, about an hour outside of Vegas, for a pre-wedding portrait session. The couple was on a rented motorcycle while Dalton and her husband hopped in a rented car.

“I thought it was such a great visual of their love, wild and free, so I wanted to get some shots of them in action on the bike,” Dalton says. With her husband behind the wheel, Dalton was able to capture the couple’s spirit. “You could just tell they were having so much fun. Without any prompting, Laura lifted her hands and let out a shout of joy, and even though the bike was partially out of frame, I really liked the way it represented their love and their elopement. Laura and David are all about adventure and not living inside the box. Add those beautiful red rocks in the background and boom—it perfectly sums up the story of their elopement.”
