Hawaii-based wedding photographer Roy Nuesca got a chance to photograph his first wedding in Japan, a dream destination for him, and after driving past this big concrete wall near the beach before this couple’s ceremony, he decided to take a leap at the photo opportunity.
“I finally got the courage to ask the couple if they’d be okay with taking a few photos at that location in their wedding attire, and they said, ‘Definitely!'” Nuesca says. “I had them walk up the wall while I stayed near the bottom, and immediately thought to myself, It’d be pretty cool if he jumped over her while she sat on the wall. As I’m yelling my instructions, without hesitation up he goes!” Thanks to a trusting bride and an athletic groom, Nuesca got a memorable shot that’s both quirky and timeless.
