When newlyweds Natalie and Emmanuel exchanged vows in Cancun, Mexico, it wasn’t the soft sand and sparkling, jewel-blue ocean that were front and center, it was the emotional aspect of the day—and that’s just fine for photographer Trin Jensen, who captured this overcome groom as his beautiful bride walked barefoot down the aisle.

“As the music played and the soft sound of the ocean waves crashed behind us, Emmanuel took in the beauty of his bride and released his emotions freely,” Jensen says. “Through this composition, the focus is solely on the emotions. That’s the real story. At the end of the day, that’s what truly matters. Emotion over location—always.”
