The Canadian Rockies are notoriously cold in winter, say elopement photographers Afton and Liam of Film & Forest Photography in British Columbia, but that didn’t stop their Florida clients from braving the freezing temps for their honeymoon adventure session at Lake Louise in Alberta.

“Every year, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise hires artists to craft giant ice sculptures, including this impressive castle,” Afton says. “On any given day, the lake and ice castle are covered with skaters and onlookers, but because of the extreme temperatures, we had the entire place to ourselves on this early morning.”

The fog illuminating the castle, she adds, was actually created from snow being blown off the nearby ice rink by a snow blower. “As the morning sun pierced through the sparkling snow mist and the couple embraced each other under the castle archway, I knew we had experienced a real-life Frozen movie.”
