Destination wedding and lifestyle photographer Stanley Babb, of Stanlo Photography, says that for this image of couple Khandise and Jamaar Bain, he wanted to include a lot of detail from the background as well as the table decor.

“To show off the beauty in the scene, I made sure the depth of field was a bit higher, at f/5,” Babb explains. “When posing the couple, I noticed the palm trees had a real repetitious pattern and I thought it would be cool to have the couple continue that pattern ending with the cake.”

The photographer adds that there was quite a bit of direct sun coming in so he decided to, “have the bride’s face pointed directly towards the light and the groom’s face in the other direction so his side profile is lit. I popped some light back from a silver reflector to kill the shadows on the bride’s face.”
