Photographer Jessi McDonold of Wild June Photography is only 5’2″, but that doesn’t stop her from getting high-angle portraits, like this shot taken on an elopement. “I was actually standing on a bench and holding my camera above my head while trying to focus manually in live view,” the Maryland-based shooter says of capturing this frame.

McDonold opted for her tilt-shift lens to get a soft, romantic feel to this portrait. “I love the serene look of the water in the background as they hold each other in a quiet embrace,” she says. “There are boats, ducks and people all around but at this moment in this frame, it is just them.”
