We asked some of the photographers and educators who are speaking at WPPI 2019 to tell us about their experiences attending WPPI, the largest wedding and portrait photography conference and show in the U.S. Here’s what Jordan Bunch had to say.

What was your first year attending WPPI?
I first attended WPPI in 2017.

What is your fondest WPPI memory?
My fondest memory from WPPI is actually from last year when an big group of filmmakers (probably 60-ish) got together at one of the bars in the casino and ended up hanging out until the early hours of the morning, making deep friendships with people we had only known from online.

What are you excited to see in 2019?
In 2019, I’m excited about the new format for the filmmaking competition, where we will be judging 100 percent of the films submitted in front of a live audience for two days. This is such a positive shift for the filmmaking community at WPPI, and I’m so happy to get to be a part of it by helping judge the competition.

Why do you come year after year?
Every year I come to WPPI, I learn things that grow both my artistry and give me new ideas that give rocket fuel to my businesses. At WPPI the presenters hold nothing back to really help you understand specific steps you can take to bring your business to the next level. Often times, it’s just one small nugget of info that makes the trip more than worth the experience. But the great thing is, I often get dozens of those nuggets!

How has attending WPPI helped you propel your business?
Getting to meet people in person who have been my mentors since the early days of my career online is so inspiring. Seeing their work in person pushes me to become a better artist. I also always pick up several business tips from fellow business-minded peers that push me forward in new ways.
