Do Not Shoot Giant Group Portraits on Rickety Old Bridges or This Will Happen

April 11, 2014

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, DO NOT pack a large group of people onto a rickety bridge or dock and try to capture a massive group portrait photo.

Take, for example, these before and after photos, in which 21 students from Pierce High School in Pierce Nebraska, posed for some pre-prom photos before their senior prom.

Shortly after the above shot was captured, a loud cracking sound could reportedly be heard, and then the bridge collapsed, flinging these dudded-up teenagers into the creek below. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt.

If you think this sort of thing only happens in amateur photos, think again. There have been several viral videos that have made the rounds over the years, showing bridal parties falling into lakes during wedding shoots when docks collapse. The below clip is, perhaps, one of the most dramatic.

Remember, you’ve been warned!
