Newborn in Neutrals [Rf Photo of the Day]

San Diego, California-based photographer Jessica Rizzotto started this newborn session by surrounding the baby with props. “I chose the props and colors because they are simple and classic with a timeless feel,” she says. “I love to mix neutrals with a pop of color.” Plus, she notes, the wire bed is a client favorite.

One of the most challenging aspects of the shoot was a common one Rizzotto faces with newborns, she says: Keeping them asleep, comfortable and safe. “You have to have so much patience when working with newborn babies,” she explains. “I follow their lead while still making sure the posing is safe and will look sweet in the final image.”
