WPPI 2017 Essential Reads

March 17, 2017

By Conor Risch

Your guide to the hottest products and happenings at WPPI 2017 is here. Attendees at this year’s show were treated to a weekend of fun, friends and the latest gear trends. We’ve rounded up a few highlights from the show, below.

3D Flex Flash

Attendees at WPPI 2017 were treated to 3D Flex Flash in action–the company 3D prints its own flash modifiers, and brought their 3D printer to this year’s show to give attendees an up-close look at how they do it. They also had sample 3D printed modifiers, along with cameras, onsite so that people could try the products for themselves. 3D Flex Flash is one of the first companies in the world to use 3D printing to manufacture end-user products.

Let your talent shine with new light modifiers that create beautiful results without weighing down your creativity. 3D Flex Flash is proud to offer The WYNG and The NEST light modifiers; designed for photographers by a photographer. To learn more visit www.3dflexflash.com.

Grip&Shoot

WPPI 2017 exhibitor Grip&Shoot has something for the mobile photographer. Their Smart Grip solves the problem of awkward, shaky mobile photos and videos by attaching a handle to your device for comfort and stability. This is a next-level grip that employs a system of Bluetooth controls as well. Use the buttons to control Zoom, Exposure, or change Cameras right from the grip. You can also squeeze the trigger to capture photos or start or stop videos. The bottom actually detaches to reveal a Removable Stand. Use the stand on its own or to connect your phone to any tripod; the remaining half of the grip also serves as a remote to control your device over 100 feet away. In the Tamron booth live studio, attendees got a hands-on look at Tamron’s next generation fast tele zoom featuring an all-new optical design that meets today’s DSLR resolution requirements.
