Addictive Stock Accelerates Growth with Adobe Stock

With social media to stay on top of, websites to update, and a raft of other meddlesome tasks constantly jockeying for position on photographers’ to-do lists, it’s easy to let the potential for stock income slip to the wayside. Recognizing this, a group of photographers and producers in Madrid sized up the situation, and in 2016 decided to create their own solution to help busy shooters get extra income from premium stock agencies.

Enter Addictive Stock: a stock distribution agency that serves as a kind of concierge service for busy photographers. “The idea of creating Addictive Stock Creatives was to serve the large number of photographers who want to sell their work as stock but for various reasons cannot devote the time it takes,” says Victor Torres, CEO and founder. There’s no restriction to the type of imagemakers Addictive will work with; their roster includes photographers who specialize in portraits, travel, food, interiors, lifestyle and more. “They only have to send us their retouched images and we take care of everything else—selection, keywording, uploading, categorization… That way the artists only have to focus on producing good content for stock, without spending time on other tasks.”

Addictive’s main challenge starting out was to provide a market for its artists that matched the quality of their work. Working on a commission basis with high-level artists, the company needed to partner with an agency that could offer its artists access to a broad, diverse market willing to pay premium prices. “Adobe Stock was the first agency that put its faith in our project, and today it’s our main sales channel,” says Torres. “Adobe Stock Premium gave us the opportunity to establish our business in the market.”

Partnering with Adobe opened up a global market of premium buyers to the collective of photographers. “For Addictive, it’s crucial to have Adobe Stock as a partner,” says Torres. “It has a huge range of customers worldwide, which is just what we need to ensure sales of all of our work. The security that an agency of its scale and prominence gives you is priceless.”

Adobe’s global reach hasn’t just created another income stream for Addictive Stock’s artists—it’s also helped to raise their profile and open up new opportunities for doing custom work. “We’ve received requests directly from clients who want to hire our artists for specific campaigns,” he says. “At Addictive, we have a wide range of photographers from all disciplines, so we can select the best artist for each project.”

Working with Adobe has also helped Addictive continue to build its own roster, which currently includes about 200 artists. “Thanks to Adobe Stock, artists worldwide have discovered us and decided to work with us,” says Torres. “We want to continue to strengthen our portfolio, raise our profile, and increase our sales so that we and our artists benefit from steady growth and a secure position in the market,” he says. “And we intend to continue counting on Adobe as our main sales channel.”
