Marianne Chua says she coined the term “funtojournalist” to describe her approach to the big day. The definition hints at a purposeful documentary style mixed with the freedom and whimsy of candid wedding photography. She also likes to capture humor whenever possible, especially a clever irony. ‘When I shoot, all I think about is creating photographs that will make the couple laugh or double-take when they look through their gallery,” she says. Chua won’t do digital manipulation to her couples’ looks, choosing instead to maintain the raw realism that fits with her whole photographic ethos.
