Doing anything special Sunday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.? Come to Las Vegas and get yourself to the Mandalay Bay! You won’t want to miss Rangefinder‘s business summit, Rise + Shine, at WPPI 2020.

This all-day educational event, geared toward wedding photographers in their first five years of business, will include primers on branding your business and marketing your work, discovering and honing your signature voice and style, upselling products, pricing packages and so much more under the wedding photography sun.

Current Rangefinder 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography and alumni will give hour-long classes as well as in-depth, interactive mentor sessions with small groups. That’s right—learn straight from the pros and ask them all your burning questions!

The growing esteem behind the 30 Rising Stars competition led the editors at Rangefinder to start Rise + Shine, so that attendees could learn what it takes to get to that highly creative, prolific level of work. You might see some familiar faces at Rise + Shine in the video below, when the editors asked some 30 Rising Star alumni from around the world to share the meaning behind the accolade:

This year, Caroline Tran will kick off the day with her session, Building a Recognizable Brand (10-11 a.m.), highlighting strategies that helped her discover her brand identity and then carry it across her marketing, image style, social media—the whole gamut. As Tran has discovered over time, introducing her personal side to potential clients—like an off-the-cuff self portrait with her son that took off on Instagram—has helped make her more identifiable as a person and a creative.

“I use social media as a way to connect with current clients, potential clients and my audience,” Tran says. “It’s a way to show who I am, and by putting myself out there and being vulnerable, people feel more connected to that. I’m attracting like-minded people.”

Also on the day’s lineup are Eric Kelley (who was just named one of the 45 best wedding photographers in the world by Harper’s BAZAAR and who will discuss “How to Build Social Capital”), Elizabeth Austin-Davis on “Developing Your Signature Style” (she also shot our 2019 30 Rising Stars issue cover) and Will Khoury on “Money Management & Growth.” They join five more 30 Rising Stars as our small-group mentors.
