The Most Laid-Back Day Imaginable, by Jennifer Moher [Rf Wedding of the Week]

When bride Sylvia got in touch with Jennifer Moher, she described the wedding she and groom Matt envisioned as “an intimate day to just celebrate,” the 30 Rising Star says. “[They] planned the most laid back day I could ever imagine!” The plan: have cheese and wine at home as they got ready, take the subway to City Hall to get married in front of their eight family members, stop for a drink on the way to a restaurant in Toronto for an intimate dinner together with their family, and Uber it on home.

The couple kept the details fairly DIY as well, allowing for some nice opportunity for meaningful detail shots. “Sylvia actually painted her leather jacket with the words ‘Just Married,'” Moher says. “It was such an adorable touch to the simplicity of their day. A month prior to the wedding, they had made their own wedding bands.”

“Sylvia and Matt really just enjoyed each others’ company for the entire day,” she says. “I was essentially just a fly on the wall as they hung out for a day. It was perfect.”

This no-frills wedding is totally up Moher’s alley—she’s been drawing in quite a few intimate ceremonies lately, and told us not too long ago why this has become so popular this year. “Honestly, it was a complete dream,” she says. “It was one of my favourite weddings to have documented and witnessed,” not only for its inherent charm but also because a smaller, simpler ceremony like this often means fewer hiccups (which is why Moher loves shooting destination elopements, too).
