With an epic wedding day like Amy and Darshan’s (as well as Mendi and Garba pre-wedding events during the nights before the wedding), proper timing and coordination was vital. Held on a steamy June morning at the Hilton Philadelphia Penn’s Landing and photographed by Nathan and Thanh of Lightyear Studio, the day began very early. Says Thanh: “We started at 6:30 a.m. with bridal and ceremony prep, then had the first look at 8 a.m. (along with bride and groom portraits), bridal party portraits at 8:30 a.m., family portraits at 9 a.m., the Baraat procession at 9:30 a.m. and the wedding ceremony at 10:30 a.m. It was a very tight schedule and there was so much that needed to be accomplished before the Baraat celebration, followed by the traditionally early wedding ceremony that is customary for south asian Hindi weddings.”

“We were fortunate that our couple loved our style of photography and allowed us the creative freedom to capture their wedding day with our unique blend of editorial and portrait style of photography using mostly available light,” adds Thanh. “It was quite a day!”
