Did you know that “neck spam” is a euphemism for a double chin? Neither did we, but it’s just one of the many euphemisms for a double chin that we learned in this video from photographer Joe Edelman.

But beyond just rounding up hilarious chin slang, Edelman has a lot more to share.

In this brief tutorial, he runs down some posing techniques that you can use when your subject has a bit of a… meat scarf.

Some key tips for disguising that chinsulation:

* Have your subject push their face forward (but not upward).

* If that’s not doing the trick, have them also push their shoulders back.

* Shoot from a higher camera angle, just a little bit above your subject.

* If you work with a makeup artist, have them use darker foundation on the chin area.

* Have a chair for your subject to lean on, so they can lean slightly forward, automatically pushing the chin forward.
