Power of Print

Two Video Tutorials to Navigate WPPI's Print Comp

December 13, 2013

By RF Staff

When I first sat down with Jerry and Melissa Ghionis to discuss the WPPI Print Competition, we all agreed the No. 1 objective was to simplify the process of entering.

Over the last year, we have come up with comprehensive improvements to the program, as well as a beautiful new website where you may log in to see where you stand in the new Honors of Excellence Program (click "My Honors" on the left hand navigation menu).

One of the things we discussed was having a few video tutorials showing the entire entry process. In response, Jerry has created two great videos—one on making the most of the website, and one on how to mount your prints. He also gives some great tips and advice as he goes. Of course, who doesn’t love that smart Aussie accent of his?!

Here’s some pointers I pulled from the video:

  • Be sure to carefully check the size of your print.
  • Make sure the print is free of dust and scratches
  • The better it’s framed, the more it goes unnoticed

and one for everyday...

  • You don’t have to be the best, all you have to be is better than last week. (LOVE IT!)

Here are the tutorials in full to get you started.
