When It Feels Right

Nick Murray says when he sets out with a newly married couple for portraits, he usually asks the bride to lead the groom, “especially when I’m lucky enough to get the sun glowing behind them,” he adds. “I mean, who doesn’t love a floating veil in the sun shot?” But with these two, Murray found himself naturally flipping the script.

“Rob has got great presence when you meet him, and I wanted this to come across in a center framing,” the photographer explains. “They were perched on top of some rocks at the edge of the coast at St Donats in South Wales, and I was shouting across the beach, asking Rob to keep moving whilst Kelly held out her veil to catch the sea breeze hitting them. This was one of around 20 frames, and his unusual posing just did it for me on this one.”
