Timeless Reflection

“This moment happened really quickly, and it’s not posed or set up,” say Jelger and Tanja, a wedding photo duo based in Vancouver, Canada. The bride did in fact hire a makeup artist—she just decided to do some of the touching up on her own. Standing in front of big light-filled windows, she presented the photographers with an optimal frame.

They met the opportunity with a 35mm lens, which allowed them to shoot a little wider to include the city vista that plays well with her timeless updo. “I love the little details like the raindrops on the window and the vague city of Vancouver in the background,” Jelger says. Both were fairly representative of the wedding day. “We opted for a black-and-white edit to put the emphasis on the moment in the mirror.”
