Through the Fog

Photographer Karlo Gavric made the most of a foggy day during a photo session with these newlyweds. He and the couple were alone on Vlašić Mountain in Bosnia during this shoot, so he knew he wanted to capture the moodiness of the background. Making it black and white “just felt right,” he says. “It expresses the emotions of this moment way better than color can.”

It took a little convincing to get the bride and groom to see the photographer’s vision, though. “I had to make them believe that they looked gorgeous and that they will look fabulous in the pictures despite the weather,” he explains. It worked, and, Gavric says, “the beautiful smile on the bride’s face, combined with the surreal background, broken trees and amazing foggy mystique,” is what makes this photo eye-catching.
