This couple had exchanged vows in the United States and hired photographer Paula O’Hara to do a post-wedding shoot in Ireland. She took them to the Dark Hedges, a highly photographed location in Northern Ireland, especially popular all after all of its cameos in Game of Thrones.

“I really wanted to try something different, and I hadn’t seen a photograph of them from this angle,” O’Hara says, “showing the full shape of the trees right before you go into them.”

It was a misty morning, she recalls, and “there was a moment when they were standing there together, holding hands ready to walk into this eery and ominous-looking place, and it felt like there was a symbolic nature in that—this newly married couple journeying to unknown places but doing it together.”
