St. Petersburg, Florida-based photographer Lindsey Stigleman had always envisioned a photo shoot like this one but hadn’t come across the right client for it until meeting this family. Since both the parents are creatives, they understood Stigleman’s vision for the shoot, which was inspired by a poem the photographer wrote called “Eternally Bound” about the unconditional, unbreakable love of families.

To express that concept, Stigleman wanted to bind the family together using rope. She directed the children to hug the mom’s belly which, says Stigleman, “shows the intimacy of siblinghood. It looks as if I was never there, and they are laying with the woman that brought them into this world. They’re not old enough to understand the miracle she sustains within her. What they know of life thus far is of each other.”
