The Labyrinth of Love

Photo duo Nico and Vinx of The Ferros were thrilled to photograph this lovely Italian couple’s elopement in the intimacy of a beautiful garden at a villa in Verona. “It was just the four of us, nobody was around,” the Ferros explain. “We could only hear the sound of nature, which helped to create an even more magical atmosphere.”

According to the photographers (who were named Rf 30 Rising Stars last year), when they entered the villa and saw this amazing labyrinth, they were immediately catapulted into a fantasy world. “Both the geometrical and symbolic fascination of that element was the spark for the whole idea of this shot. And the couple was at the core of it. It was like they were looking for each other and finally met.”

Even better, say the Ferros, was the fact that the town was completely immersed in a thick mist during a cloudy sunset. “It became a sort of natural softbox, benefiting the quality and quantity of light falling on the subjects. The shot was made with a 35mm lens to emphasize the dramatic look of the scene and its composition.”
