Photographer Trevor Kennedy of ME + HIM Photography says he and his shooting partner Kelly, who is also his wife, have been trying out new techniques to keep their creative appetites well fed—and to create more meaningful ways to showcase special moments for their clients. “We’ve been experimenting a lot with slow shutter as a storytelling tool,” they explain, which is what led to this creative elopement portrait.

“This couple had just eloped on the beach [in Lake Michigan near Warren Dunes State Park] a couple hours prior,” Trevor says. “The sun had just gone down and they were still so excited that they were dancing on our walk back to the car. This seemed like the most natural way to capture their dreamy giddiness.”
