Photographer Caleb North kept this anniversary photo shoot pretty casual. It was a cold winter day and the two subjects, who are close friends of North, decided to meet in a coffee shop which, North says, “turned out to be the perfect place to capture them in their element.”

For this particular image, it was challenging to line up the couple’s eyes, North recalls, but once he did, the actual photograph was fairly simple to execute. He says, “There’s just something about the emotion in their eyes that is so special. It makes me smile every time I look at the image.”
