Urška Majer of Slovenia-based destination wedding photography duo Urška & Domen says this couple’s first dance was especially emotional. “I just love how relaxed they were and unafraid to show their feelings,” she says. Toward the last few seconds of the song, the groom picked up the bride as golden confetti started tumbling down (seen at the very bottom of the frame). “The bride’s excited face says it all,” Majer says.

But capturing this moment wasn’t all that simple. The couple was moving and twirling all over the dance floor, so it took some coordination to frame this at just the right angle. “We were fortunate that the couple took a few laps around the dance floor before the song ended,” Majer says. And as the lift began, the photographers quickly got into position to document this big finale. “It’s always a challenge to figure out where to stand during moments like this, but we were able to capture the perfect expression!”
