Colorado wedding photographer Levi Tijerina totally understood why this couple decided to hold their ceremony outside even though it was raining. “These amazing views are why they chose to be married in the mountains,” he says, and the wedding party was ready to help make it happen for them.

When the couple began to exchange vows, the rain started picking up momentum, so the bride’s nephew ran out to hold an umbrella above the couple. “As soon as he started moving forward,” Tijerina says, “I knew that there was going to be potential for this shot to exist. I ended up running to the center so that I could frame this shot with his hand in front of her face and the umbrella taking center stage. It’s one of my favorite shots of the day because it says so much about their wedding in a single image.”
