Milky Way Magic

After the reception, there wasn’t much left for these newlyweds to do other than wrap up and head to bed. Once they got a glimpse of the beautifully clear Utah sky, however, they decided to delay their sleep just a little bit longer to take in the magic of the moment. Their photographers, Cody and Allison Harris of Cody and Allison photography, were absolutely on board.

“Once we realized we could see the Milky Way, we decided it was appropriate to frame the couple in their favorite spot on their last night in the town they got married in,” Cody says. Lit only by a porch light, it took Cody two or three takes to get the shot just right. “I could barely see the LCD screen because the camera was laying in deep, wet grass without a tripod,” he recalls. “But from a technical standpoint, the balance and realism in the lighting is what struck us the most. We were able to clearly see the couple as well as the vibrant Milky Way!”
