Photographer Dino Joldić of Blink Weddings—based in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina—says almost nothing went as planned on this wedding day in Slovenia. “The whole day was filled with clouds and the bride was understandably a little nervous because the whole ceremony was to be outdoors,” he explains. It did eventually start to rain, and rather than changing plans to be inside, everything form the portrait session to the outdoor wedding itself was postponed.

“After some time the rain just stopped,” Joldić says, “and the sun came out of nowhere. It started to get pretty warm outside, so we rushed to the Ljubljana city center”—the capital of Slovenia—”to do a 15-minute photo session. At the end of our short session, the groom took the bride’s hand and said, ‘We have to go, our guests shouldn’t wait.’ I captured exactly that moment and it turned out to be the one. They managed to win Ljubljana for themselves by making the lights and background work perfectly. Their body language, looks and overall aura made this shot what it is.”
