Sometimes, the best wedding photos take place when you least expect them. Photographer Lucas Costa was overjoyed when this scene played out recently at a wedding at the Winery Casas del Bosque in Valparaiso, Chile.

“Here, the bride has just arrived at the ceremony, escorted by her father,” says Costa, “and I really love how ‘in the moment’ it is. There was a lot of wind and that made the bride’s veil completely obscure her father’s face like that.”

In addition to the wind being an issue, Costa says it was a very cold day with very little sun. Still, he says, he can’t complain—it was all worth it just to get a spontaneous moment like this.
