Photo of the Day
It’s been a year since Rangefinder launched its daily photo series, Photo of the Day (check out our very first post here!), and in that time we’ve featured some spectacular images from renowned photographers like Lindsay Adler, Charleton Churchill and Jerry Ghionis, as well as beautiful photographs from emerging talent all over the globe. We hope the work has inspired those who have followed it and has continued to fuel the passion of those who have been featured.
To celebrate this milestone, here’s a look back at some of the most popular Photos of the Day from the year—from dare-devil brides and grooms nearing an 8,000-foot drop to a romantic kiss under a rainbow. These images garnered the most page views, and most were taken by wedding and portrait photographers just like you. Submit your own work by emailing your favorite photo, and check out the full archive.
Nearing the Edge
This 8,000-foot drop didn’t look as intimidating to the bride until she was up there, but she braved it for wedding shooters Erin and Geoffrey. It made for a beautiful backdrop for a breathtaking portrait that, unlike the look of it, was in fact created safely!
Tasteful Tilt-Shift
Noelle Johnson and this couple were on a hike in Sequim, Washington, when they stopped for a moment to take a breather, and a tender engagement portrait.
An Epic Kiss
Even though it was a rainy day during this Massachusetts wedding, there were occasional breaks of sun poking through, one of which produced this beautiful moment captured by photographer Rick Reade.
Beautiful Bokeh
Hannah and Ben Appleby of HBA Photography used some strategically placed artificial lights to achieve their vision during this particularly dark nighttime shoot.
Rain-Soaked Romantic
As photographer Greg Moment and his gear got soaked in the rain, this bride was safe and dry inside a car just minutes before she was set to walk into her ceremony.
A Shift in Focus
After shooting non-stop, back-to-back weddings, the husband-and-wife duo behind Agape Photography decided to shift their focus to this fun personal project.
