Grit and Glam in Bushwick [Rf Photo of the Day]

When this couple approached New York-based photographer Amber Gress to capture their elopement, she says they told her they wanted the photos to “really be about their new lives in New York,” as they recently relocated from Seattle.

For the shoot, Gress (an Rf 30 Rising Star from 2015) took the couple to a rooftop in Bushwick, a neighborhood located on the northern part of Brooklyn. Gress describes the location as “gritty with lots of great street art,” but also with a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline. Taken with a Canon 5D Mark III and Sigma Art 35mm lens, Gress says, “This is one of those photos that I know will just be so iconic for them throughout their marriage, and I love that.”
