Photographer Natalie Licini, who specializes in fine-art portraiture, spent the past week at WPPI judging Print Comp but took time out to share this striking image.

“This is a portrait of my client’s son, who has a real passion for karate,” Licini says. “It helps to discover your subjects interests and passions to make an even more creative image.”

Taken at Licini’s castle studio, Je Revele, in New Jersey, Licini used an Oliphant background to make the feel even more dramatic.
