This couple had a custom-built, floral-framed circular arch as part of their Belarus wedding ceremony. During the day, the flowers provided a beautiful pop of color as the bride and groom took their vows. At night, the arch was filled with lights, emanating romance and elegance to complement the mood of the reception.

“After the ceremony and fireworks, I asked the couple to stand by the arch for a couple of minutes to get a romantic portrait,” notes photographer Sergey Lapkovsky. “I knew that I wanted to create an image like this the moment that I saw the arch lit up.”

To get the frame just right, Lapkovsky cranked up his ISO. “I didn’t add any extra lights because the ambient backlight from the circular arch was enough to highlight the silhouettes,” he says. “I like the way the photo turned out because it reflects the warm atmosphere of the wedding.”
