Austin-based wedding photographer Geoff Duncan explored the city’s Blanton Art Museum with this couple for about an hour, shooting portraits around all of its various nooks and crannies, before landing on this staircase near the museum’s entrance. And that was entirely on purpose, says the Rf 30 Rising Star (2014).

“I intentionally saved [the staircase] for last because I wanted time to warm up with the couple,” Duncan says. “By that time, we were all having fun together, and I encouraged them to go play on the staircase while I worked on different perspectives up top. The next thing I saw, they were laying down stretched out on the floor.” Needless to say, this turned out to be one of his favorite shots from the day.

(Shot with a Canon 5D Mark III and a 24mm lens at f/2.8 and ISO 1600.)
