The ceremony had come to a close, the families hugged and selfies with the couple were taken when Don Bringas of Don + Helen pulled them aside to reflect on what had just happened—a “time to take it all in,” he says. Bringas considers this an important aspect of his job. “Our work consists of not only photographing their day but by making them comfortable and relaxed, whether we photograph them or not.”

With only a minute to capture this (a photographer can’t isolate a couple for too long), Bringas clicked his aperture to f/9 to “pop the colors on the bride’s skin and her bouquet while having that punchy black.”
