Photographers Fanis and Jenny of Days Made of Love, a wedding studio based in Greece, were shooting some establishing, wide-open shots encapsulating the majestic surroundings of a greenhouse of Florence, Italy’s Orto Botanico gardens for a styled shoot when they decided it was time for some details.

“We always love to shoot detail shots, because they add an extra feeling to the whole photo set,” say the photographers, who adjusted their aperture to f/2.8 “to create a mild bokeh at the background and keep the details on the foreground sharp at the same time. We shoot at this aperture most of the time to create this feeling.”

They only got a few shots in before having to relocate—this spot, as it were, hosted the tropical plants, so there were no open windows. “The humidity levels were high, it was so hot and full of mosquitos in there! We only did a few shots there and then moved to the other parts of the greenhouse.”

(Shot with a Canon 6D and Sigma Art 50mm lens at f/ 2.8, 1/400th of a second and ISO 100.)
