On assignment for the sustainably produced, handmade knitware brand The Knotty Ones, fashion photographer Kestutis Zilionis wanted to produce a clean, consistent look that emphasized the garments but also drew attention to the models wearing them. “I wanted the images to be a reflection of the garments, mimicking their clean and minimalist design,” Zilionis says.

His vision for this particular low-angle shot was to “show how the garments and the environment can come together to create an eclectic image.” The background decor and finely decorated ceiling of The Kazickas residence, located in Vilnius, Lithuania, provided a pleasing complement to the detailed stitching in the sweater, “but they don’t overtake the focus of the person,” Zilionis notes. “My favorite part about this final frame is how it reflects the brand’s vision and complements the rest of the campaign.” (You can see the full campaign on Zilionis’s Instagram page.)
